When Rahm Emanuel referred to Sarah Palin's child as "f@#!ing retarded" it caused a lot of mix emotion. First off people can find this terminology very offensive because Palin's son has down syndrome. This is a serious medical conditions and people shouldn't toy with it by referring to people with this disease as retarded. Secondly I believe that Palin could be using this issue to get more publicity. She has already been showing off her son as to say she cares for kids with special needs and to show a caring, loving side to her that the public hasn't seen. It wasn't correct for Rahm Emanuel to use these words, but is Palin as hurt as she seems to be?
I believe that you are correct. Rahm Emanuel had no right to say the words that he said, but what he pointing it out to Sarah Palin or did he just say it. Either way I do not think that he should have said that word at all. A good thing that he should have done was see how he would feel if he was in Palin's shoes. Would he do the same thing as her or would he had handled the situation differently? This word is a word that some people use but they do not always mean it in that way, but people still need to be careful with what they say because they never know who is watching them.
